1 Bowl Waffles that are gluten free, vegan and super easy to make! Forget the store bought waffles and make a healthier homemade waffle!
Got plans for breakfast this weekend? Or Sunday brunch? No? I’m glad you said that cause’ I think you should stay home in your pajamas and make a cozy waffle breakfast and enjoy it relaxing outside enjoying the beauty the nature has to offer!
OH! But don’t forget to prep the Strawberry Chia Jam a day or a few days prior cause you SO want it with these waffles I promise you it’s a perfect combo they kinda complete each other.
A few tips while making these 1 Bowl Waffles:
- no exceptions on the flour, I have only tested this recipe with the Bob’s Red Mill All Purpose GF Flour Blend in the RED PKG. the garbanzo fave bean blend NOT the rice flour blend!
- Make sure yo do not over cook the waffles, if you do you can simply throw them in the microwave for 15 second and it will soften them back up but just try to check them frequently so as to not overcook them.
The flavor of these waffles is pretty mild, like a plain vanilla neutral flavor cause’ that’s how I like my waffles it allows me to add flavor with my toppings but if that’s not your thang’ feel free to add a little cinnamon or chocolate chips right into the batter and whisk it up!
ok, so make these waffles and love life cause’ I know you’ll absolutely love them!

1 Bowl Waffles that are gluten free, vegan and super easy to make! Forget the store bought waffles and make a healthier homemade waffle!
- Prep Time: 10
- Cook Time: 5-6
- Total Time: 0 hours
- Yield: 5-6 1x
- Category: breakfast
- Method: waffle iron
Ingredients
WET INGREDIENTS:
1 ¼ cup non-dairy milk (I like SILK almond plain unsweetened)
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
2 TBSP pure maple syrup
2 TBSP melted vegan butter (I use Earth Balance in the red tub)
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp vegan cane sugar (optional)
Pinch of sea salt
DRY INGREDIENTS:
2 - 2 ¼ cups all purpose gluten free flour (I use Bob’s Red Mill in the Red PKG.)
1 ½ tsp baking powder
TOPPINGS:
Unsweetened plain coconut yogurt
pure maple syrup
fresh fruit
vegan chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl add all the wet ingredients and mix, then add all the dry ingredients and whisk well.
- Pour ½ cup serving sizes (or whatever size you like) onto your heated waffle iron and cook until done, for me it was about 5-6 minutes, I did try some at 9 minutes where they get a little golden brown but that was too long, they lost their softness, so just check them early and decide.
Notes
I use the Bob’s Red Mill all purpose gluten free flour blend for baking, it’s in the red package and it’s the garbanzo fave bean blend NOT the rice flour blend in the light blue package)
*BE SURE TO NOT OVERCOOK THE WAFFLES because this batter will get hard if you over cook it, IF you do overcook it you can simply fix it by popping it in the microwave for 15 seconds and it will soften it back up.
These can be stored in the freezer for up to 1 month and re-heated in the microwave.
(I use a simple round Oster brand waffle iron)
