This Healthy Vegan Gluten Free Chocolate Cake Bread has you covered! it's a cake texture in a bread form! A slice of this will totally cure your chocolate neeeeding mind but it won’t give you that sugar loaded crash that a slice of cake would!
It is naturally sweetened with maple syrup and apple sauce, it has a chocolate and nutty flavor and it is totally YUM!

The flour is my current favorite combo of buckwheat and almond meal, nice and soft but with a slight nutty flavor!
oh! and don't be freaked out when you see the buckwheat flour and it looks like cement mix! trust me it tastes amazing in this cake! 😉

- Total Time: 40 mins

Ingredients
- DRY INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup buckwheat flour
- ½ cup almond meal (I used Bob’s Red Mill brand)
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- WET INGREDIENTS:
- ½ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 TBSP unsweetened natural apple sauce
- ¼ cup melted vegan butter (I use Earth Balance in the red tub)
- ½ cup maple syrup
- OPTIONAL:
- Mix up some PB2 for frosting the top! And dust with more cocoa powder!
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 350 F
- First add the almond milk and apple cider vinegar into a small bowl and set aside.
- Next in a large mixing bowl add all the dry ingredients and stir until well incorporated.
- Melt the butter and then add the vanilla and applesauce to the melted butter and mix.
- Add the butter mixture, almond milk mixture and maple syrup to the dry ingredients and mix everything up!
- Spray a loaf pan with non-stick spray and pour the batter in.
- Bake for 30-33 minutes until you stick a tooth pick in the center and it comes out clean.
- Remove from oven and let cool 20 minutes.
- Dust with extra cocoa powder on top OR you can mix up some PB2 for frosting on the top!

unfortunately I do not have that information.
I personally have a history of obsessively calorie counting and restricting so I try hard every day to just listen to my body and not pay attention to those things, which is difficult...(this is why I do not list nutrition info) ...
