- Pick a Domain Name and Hosting
Picking a domain name! Ours is TwoRaspberries.com I like to use Bluehost for this.
This can be fun, try experiments with as many different ideas as possible..Once you have some possible names head over to Bluehost and check if your domain name is available by entering it in the box that looks like this:
Once you have the Domain name you like and you have checked and it’s available you will also need to host you domain. Hosting is like renting space on the web for your blog to live. Below is a screenshot of what I suggest for a package. The Domain Privacy Proctection (Whois Privacy) hides your personal address and phone number from being displayed to the public. 2. Install WordPress Once you have completed your domain and hosting registration you will need to install WordPress. WordPress is a blogging software and it is was I use for TwoRaspberries.com. It is very EASY to install and easy to use.
First login to Bluehost.
Second make sure you click on your CPanel (see Screen Shot below)
Next find the WordPress logo and click on it On the next page click the “Install a brand new version” option On the next page click the “Install a brand new version” option Click complete. If you get the warning about Overwriting existing files make sure you haven't already downloaded WordPress on this account before you click Overwrite!
***Once you complete the installation you will want to make note of the Login URL, Username, and Password. You can change these later but you’ll need them for your first time logging in.***
Type your Login URL into your web browser. You’ll see a screen like the one below.
Enter your Username and Password you copied down from the previous step.
