Hey everyone!
I have been nominated by the super talented Mrs. Pumpkin n' Spice Gayle  to participate in the Writing Process Blog Tour!  You may have seen some of your favorite bloggers post this already but if your not familiar with it...  it just lets bloggers talk about what goes on behind the scenes of their blog and a little more about what they are up to!
fun little fact: I choose a picture of a Shell because a: I love the beach but b: my name is Michele but my whole family literally call me Shell for short it's been like that my whole life... usually the nickname is Shelly but my mom wasn't a fan of that name so it became Shell 😉
anyways...If you would like to read Gayle's post you can check that out here! ... If you've never been to her blog before then you MUST go check it out... I have been obsessing over her Pumpkin Cake Donuts with Salted Caramel Brownie Brittle Topping it's like a genius flavor combo and hey, who doesn't love a good donut! I always look forward to seeing what creations she comes up with 😉
NOW... on to the questions:
What are you working on now?
This is a funny question to me because I'm one of those people who "multi-task" and can't sit still for too long!... That's just one of the many things I love about blogging because after the recipe is tested and tried and perfected... I can write the post from anywhere from my iPad (seriously I will write in the car, either recipes or the full post!) but anyways back on topic... right now I am working on ideas for an eBook (hopefully ready by next summer!!!)  ... when I started blogging my goal was to be around nice people that had some common interests that match mine FOOD! being the obvious one but I also wanted to spread happiness and joy to people...  so with those two topics in mind that's what I want to focus my eBook around (not trying to give too much detail because then there's no surprise, and surprises are the best! )
next I am throwing around the idea of possibly doing YouTube videos... partly recipe videos and partly a gimps into our life... (I'm un-decided right now because I'm so totally not good with the video camera/editing area) SO we will have to wait and see!
another thing I am working on (and probably will always be because you must always grow) is my photography, I'm trying to include more action and movement in my photos to make them more interesting and less still!
and I would say my writing skills... I tend to be pretty short and too the point which is something I am trying to work on... not that short and to the point is bad but I would like to try and relate with people more through my writing 😉
How Does My Work Differ From Others of it's Genre ?
Two Raspberries is transitioning into a Vegan blog which I think is different because there aren't a lot of  Vegan blogs out there... it started as just Vegetarian (which I have been for almost 9 years) but I am in the process of transitioning to Vegan for a multitude of reasons from animal welfare to some health reasons I have and just because of the energy and clarity I feel when I eat a plant or less processed diet... now that doesn't mean it's all healthy around here because I totally LOVE my sweets in fact most recipes you see on Two Raspberries are sweets of some sort because I don't know how else to say it but sweets are one of the things that make life worth living ...in my opinion!  😉
Now I also want to add that just because I don't eat dairy doesn't mean that I don't think recipes with dairy in them aren't totally mouthwatering, I often comment on other blogs that have dairy recipes because hellooo they look delicious (we eat with our eyes first right!)... in fact many times when I see a recipe on a blog that I love it will usually have something like milk in it... that doesn't mean I won't make that recipe, I'll just swap regular cow milk for almond milk or regular cheese for a non-dairy cheese...it's all good in my little world 😉 Â
Why Do I Write What I Do?
Like I said above I started blogging so that I could socialize with like-minded people, people that share my same interests and love for food and photographing food!... I also wanted to spread happiness...I want to make people Smile, whether it's from seeing an amazing recipe that makes their eyes light up or reading something on my post that they can relate with or if it's leaving comments for other people that give them some kind of laugh or joy or smile...
In life I just want to surround myself with nice people... and to be 100 percent honest with you all, the food blogging peeps are the nicest people I have ever talked to! (online, I've never met any of them in real life) ..they are all very welcoming to new-comers like me, they are all super sweet and everyone is helpful to each other... this food blogging world is totally the best.  I have met some amazing people!... fun fact: Mrs. Pumpkin n' Spice Gayle who nominated me to do this post is actually the first person to comment on my blog a few months ago and let me tell ya, it was SO exciting when you get your first comment! so thanks Gayle your the best 😉
So yeah hopefully that sort of answers why I write what I do... it's just fun and let's me talk to super nice people who have the same interests!
How Does My writing Process Work?
hmmm... I'm not one who likes routine so it changes all the time but usually it startes like this:
what am I craving? I'll decide if it's "real food " meaning veggies, pasta, bread ect. OR if it's SWEETS like my best lil friend named chocolate!
next after I decided what sounds good, I'll work on a recipe ... usually I will do one of two things, either look on  pinterest for a general idea to what I'm craving OR I will make something up in my head and try to figure out how to make it (like a dream coming true on a plate) lol 😉
after I have a recipe kinda sorta written down either on scratch paper or on my iPhone notes (I have a note book but seriously, I don't carry it with me everywhere and when I think of something I need to write it down right away or I'll forget, and when I forget it drives me crazy when I can't remember it)
next try the recipe and if it works YAY! if not try and try again...
then WRITE about it... like I said earlier I'm working on being more descriptive and interesting with my writing... but I try to describe the ingredients that are used and how totally mouth watering-ly delicious they are and the texture and the flavor and whether it was easy or not-so-easy... I try to make things simple usually though!
hopefully you all enjoyed reading what goes on behind the scenes...
next up are the nominations!
