This is my favorite homemade hot chocolate recipe using homemade creamy and frothy cashew milk! Warm and comforting perfect for chilly nights.

We are getting all sorts of comfy and cozy with this cold weather right now! Today I’m showing you how to make a comforting homemade hot chocolate that is warm and perfect for a chilly evening by the fire place of watching movies on the couch! Let’s jump right into the recipe!!!

How to make this homemade hot chocolate recipe with creamy cashew milk
First you need to make the homemade cashew milk, you could use store bought but it’s not as creamy and you don’t get to control the amount of sweetness.
Then you simply just add the chocolate bar, cashew milk (that you sweetened with your choice of sweetener) and and whisk it all together on low-med heat (whisking continually to avoid the chocolate from burning) until the chocolate is melted and you have a creamy slightly froth homemade hot chocolate!

What kind of chocolate to use
I use the 88% dark chocolate bar from the Endangered Species brand. I like it because of the simple clean ingredients but you can use any kind of chocolate bar that melts well.
Does Hot Chocolate Have Caffeine?
Yes, chocolate naturally contains caffeine but not even close to the amount in coffee, of course it depends on the type of chocolate you use (milk chocolate has less than dark chocolate) but in general we’re talking not even ¼ of what is in coffee.
ok! I really hope you give this a try one of theses cold winter days, if you do leave me a comment and let me know what you think, I know you're gonna love it! also let me know what kind of chocolate you used, dark or milk chocolate?!

Notes
Use the whole bar 3 oz. if you want it extremely rich and creamy, you may need to add a little more sweetener if you use the whole bar, use whatever sweetener you chose for the homemade cashew milk. (maple syrup or vegan cane sugar)
I use the 88% dark chocolate bar from the Endangered Species brand I got mine at Whole Foods, but use what ever percent of chocolate you like, I just prefer a sweet dark chocolate.
You could use store bought cashew milk (I recommend SILK brand) but it won’t be as creamy and you won’t get to control the sweetness flavor as much.
