Ingredients
Check the recipe card below for full ingredients and quantities to make this Vegan Apple Crumble recipe.
- Apples: The star of the recipe, this vegan apple crumble tastes amazing with all types of apples, I used a red braeburn apple but use whatever apple is your favorite and it will be delicious.
- Flour: Helps everything stay together and keeps a nice texture without becoming watery.
- Brown Sugar: Adds a sweet caramelized flavor.
- Vegan Butter: Used for flavor and helps everything stick together.
- Pecans: Adds a nice crunch but you can use any nuts you like.
- Oats: This is used to form the "crumble" topping, do not use quick oats make sure they are old fashioned rolled oats.
Variations
- Sweet treat: Absolutely any time of the day I’d say is a great time for a Vegan Apple Crumble treat, you can pair it with a glass of homemade oat milk or almond milk or with non dairy vanilla ice cream or Banana Nice Cream and you can even try non dairy whipped cream options.
- Carmel drizzle: Another sweet variation is to drizzle a caramel sauce that's vegan directly on top of this apple crumble and if you’ve topped a piece with the ice cream listed above drizzle this caramel right on top of the ice cream you’ll have an amazing dessert.
- Chopped nuts: This Vegan Apple Crumble recipe already has pecans, oats and other ingredients but if you’d like a heavier crunch you can add more chopped pecans or other chopped nuts like walnuts, almonds, or whatever you’d like they will just add more texture and crunch to this crumble.

Recipe FAQs
It’s a personal preference this vegan apple crumble tastes awesome hot straight from the oven after cooling slightly or with additional topping like ice cream. It also tastes amazing cold right from the fridge.
Although apple crisp/crumble is similar it’s not exactly like apple pie.
Apple pie has a flaky buttery top crust and a bottom crust to each slice of pie and generally it’s cut into triangle slices. Apple crisp/crumble has a crumble topping, no bottom crust and its scooped on to the serving plate.
Butter is the ingredient that helps get your topping just right, it helps with the browning and crispness, follow the recipe instructions closely. But you can adjust the topping if you think it’s to crumbly add a small amount of butter (½ teaspoon at a time) because it adjusts the crumble a lot.
