Apple Crumble Topping
So lets talk about the difference between apple crumble vs apple crisp toppings.
Apple crumble usually has things like oats and nuts added into the butter and sugar topping, which differs from apple crisp which is usually just a mix of butter flour and sugar to create more of a “crisp” texture like sand instead of a chunky hearty texture of the apple crumble topping.
How to make this Apple Crumble Recipe
This apple crumble recipe is probably one of the easiest recipes on my blog, it literally takes maybe 10 minutes to prepare and then you just pop it into the oven, let’s take a look at the steps and ingredients shall we?
1. First start with your favorite apple, I used honey crisp. Wash and peel the apple if desired, I actually only peeled half of them.
2. Next slice the apples to be more traditional or chop them up if you fell like livin’ on the edge!
3. pro tip for the ones who don’t like to do dishes, get a big bowl melt the butter in there first before adding the apples and the rest of the ingredients= less dishes.
THEN toss the apple slices into a big bowl with the butter melted at the bottom and then add the brown sugar, cinnamon, all spice, and flour then get in there with your hands and really get everything all coated in the yummy mixture. Pour that into your baking dish and move on to the topping!
4. For the topping you can just put your butter right into that big bowl, microwave it until melted, add the brown sugar, cinnamon, pecans and oats and mix it up really well!
5. Pour the topping over the sliced apple layer and pop it in the oven! Enjoy the fragrant smell while you patiently wait for it to bake and then cool off!
