Ingredients
Take a look at the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and quantities to make this Pumpkin Smoothie.
- Frozen Bananas: Be sure to chop them before freezing them to make it easier to blend.
- Pumpkin Puree: Make sure it's plain, not pie filling.
- Plant Milk: I like oat or almond milk the best but any plant milk you like best will do, make sure its unsweetened plain.
- Nut Butter: I like to use cashew or almond butter for this smoothie.
- Vegan Yogurt: I used plain unsweetened vegan coconut yogurt.
- Cinnamon: Can also use pumpkin spice if you would rather.
- Hemp Seeds: I like to add this for extra nutrition.
Variations
- Nut-Free: Feel free to replace the cashew butter or almond butter with sunflower seed butter for a nut-free pumpkin smoothie recipe. Also be sure to use a nut-free milk such as soy or hemp.
- More Protein: You can easily make this a protein pumpkin smoothie by adding a scoop of your favorite plant-based protein powder.
- Add Greens: With pumpkin spice smoothies you can easily add a stem of kale and best of all is you can’t really even taste it in this smoothie.
How to make this Pumpkin Smoothie
Step 1: Place everything in the blender.
Step 2: Blend until smooth, enjoy immediately.
Expert Tips
- Use a frozen banana: Be sure to chop the banana and freeze (at least 12 hours), this helps to make the smoothie nice and cold.
- Add ice if needed: If your pumpkin smoothies are not cold enough for your liking, you can add 2-3 ice cubes and blend again.
- Try using homemade milk: This Pumpkin Smoothie can be made with one of our homemade non-dairy milk recipes such as our oat milk, cashew milk, coconut milk, or almond milk.
- Serve immediately: Smoothies do not keep well and are best enjoyed right away. Even when chilled in the refrigerator, their texture will begin to deteriorate, so I don’t recommend storing them.
